Big SAS events always remind us how grateful we are for our global SAS community, and how the culture of connection and sharing empowers us all to collectively achieve so much.
In particular, with SAS Innovate coming up in Las Vegas (April 16-19), we’ve been reflecting on the “razzle dazzle” time we had in the Bright Light city at SAS Global Forum 2016.
It also got us thinking about how much SAS Viya has evolved since it was launched that year, and the fantastic range of SAS Viya information on offer at SAS Innovate 2024 via customer presentations, workshops, meetups, demos and training.
Unfortunately we won’t be heading to Las Vegas this time, but we’ll certainly be signing-up to watch the livestream and get access to on-demand content. Keep an eye out for us in the online spaces and be sure to reach out and say “G’day”.
If youβre looking for some in-person SAS connection a bit closer to home, check out SAS Innovate On Tour, happening across a whopping 14 countries over the next 6 months. Weβll be joining the Sydney event in July β perhaps weβll see you there?
SAS Admin Workshops
Have you noticed the free SAS Administrator Workshops being posted in the SUGA community recently?
These excellent workshops cover best practices and administration tools that we all need to be familiar with.
So, if you’ve missed the live events, head over to the workshop relevant to you, and register or pop a comment on the post to get access to the recording:
Metacoda Plug-ins Activity Reviewer
Providing comprehensive metadata visibility β and increasing productivity, reducing risk and assuring security – is what our Metacoda Plug-ins are all about!
We love hearing from customers that our products save them hours β or even days β of work.
So, we’re excited that our new Activity Reviewer Plug-in (in our 6.2 release) promises even more efficiency.
The new Plug-in allows you to see activity information gleaned from recent changes in SAS 9 log files (e.g. audit activity for security access controls, user logins, failed logins etc) β all from within the SAS Management Console.
To find out more, watch the free on-demand SAS Ask the Expert webinar we presented in October 2023 and read Paul’s technical blog post.
Please reach out if you have any questions or if you’d like assistance to configure it.
What sound does a koala make?
Hmmm… good question…
While most of us are familiar with the cute appearance of these furry creatures, their not-so-cute sounds usually come as a bit of a shock!
The Australian Koala Foundation describes the sound as being “like a like a loud snore and then a belch, known as a bellow“.
Intrigued? Head over to the Australian Koala Foundation website where you’ll find a 38-second video of a koala bellowing, as well as other interesting facts about these beloved but endangered animals.
Importantly, did you know that koalas are not bears (the only bears you’ll find in Australia are in zoos)? Koalas are actually marsupials and carry their babies (known as joeys) in their pouch. That’s why we always refer to them simply as “koalas”, never as “koala bears”.
Wherever you are in the world, we hope to connect with you soon. As you know, we love sharing our Metacoda products with you, so please shout out if you’d like to find out more about how we can help you save time and money.
P.S. Don’t forget to take a micro-break from your busy day to listen to the bellowing koala β it’s sure to put a smile on your face. π¨
